NOTE FROM SHEILA: Mark has been running Collage workshops for us since 2013 and they have proved a wonderful insight to the man and his work. The range of work produced by the students is varied and original. Mark is a wonderful, energetic and inspirational Tutor and a multi-talented artist.
Yet again students will be exploring techniques and materials under the guidance of one of our most dynamic artists. Mark will spend some of the first day demonstrating techniques and showing us how he uses a variety of materials in his collage work.
We have a wealth of flora and fauna available in our grounds to inspire and delight you and by the end of the second day we're confident you will each have created some original and vibrant work under his guidance. It will be an advantage (but not essential) to have some drawing skills to benefit fully from this workshop and if you have an idea for something you'd like to produce, please do bring your ideas along, Mark will be happy to help your realise your concept.
Mark Hearld studied illustration at Glasgow College of Art and then completed an MA in Natural History Illustration at the Royal College of Art. He is a highly versatile artist who uses a wide range of media in his work. His love of nature and interest in English popular art is evident throughout his fabulously vibrant work. You can discover more about him by taking a look at his inspirational Work Book which is available in bookshops now (cover is top right).
All the work shown on this page is by Mark Hearld - by permission.
